Practicing is quite possibly
the biggest factor in any band student's success and also the primary
reason why
students lose interest. Practicing is not homework, not a punishment,
and not a way to get out of doing
dishes after supper. Practicing is simply a process required to
get better at any skill a student wishes to possess. The more efficiently
a student
can practice, the less time they need to spend at it (which makes
them happy), and the more progress they make (which makes them
better).
